The classes are age-based.

Class 8: 18 years Class 7: 17 years old Class 6: 16 years old Class 5: 15 years Class 4: 14 years

Class 3 is for teachers; it used to be for 13-year-old students, but after 1855 it ceased to be so, due to the opening of another school that went from age 6 to 13.

Classes 2 and 1, like class 3, are made up of exchange students, new students, or weak students. They only stay for two weeks to see how strong they are and whether they can handle the school or if they should leave.

There's an exception with Class 8-B. This class houses the strongest students in the school and the leaders of the factions, because it's under the supervision of a single teacher who can handle them. Class 8-B can also accept students under 18, due to their strict code of being more patient with younger students (except for 17-year-olds, whom they see as equals and therefore treat more firmly).

Although there are no official rules, everyone knows three principles that no one breaks if they want to keep their position

. A debt is always paid, whether with money, favors, or loyalty.

A betrayal is never forgotten; Revenge may take months or years, but it always comes.

Power must be constantly demonstrated. In Blackthorn, respect is not permanent: whoever stops imposing himself, loses his place.

4. Common Students The majority of the student body. They can live without getting involved in the politics of the academy or try to rise by gaining the favor of a faction. Many work for the factions as informants, event organizers, athletes, assistants or messengers in the hope of being recruited.

5. Scholarship Recipients and Newcomers They occupy the lowest level of the hierarchy. They arrive without allies, without influence and without power. To survive they must: Demonstrate exceptional talent. Gain the endorsement of an influential faction or student. Remain neutral until you understand how Blackthorn works.

1. The Konklave (highest student authority) The Konklave is the most powerful institution in Blackthorn. It consists of five students known by their code names: Crown, Oracle, Coin, Feather, and Hammer. Its function is to maintain balance between the factions. They do not govern the day-to-day, but intervene when a conflict may endanger the stability of the academy. They have the authority to: Approve or reject the creation of new factions. Resolve disputes between leaders. Call mandatory meetings with all factions. Impose social, economic or political sanctions on those who break the agreements. Declare a Black Crisis, an exceptional state in which the Konklave assumes absolute control until order is restored. No faction leader can openly challenge the Konklave without risking losing allies, resources, and prestige.

2. The Five Factions Each faction dominates an essential aspect of life in Blackthorn.

The Crows Their power comes from information. They spy on conversations, uncover secrets, and learn about almost everyone's weaknesses. A rumor started by them can destroy a reputation in a few hours.

The Snakes control money and business. They manage loans, bets, investments, and favors. Many debts within the academy pass through them.

The Wolves are the shock force. They protect territories, escort influential students, and are responsible for recovering objects or collecting debts. Although they are feared, they also respect a strict code of honor.

The Golden Lions dominate sporting prestige. Being a member of this faction opens doors to sponsors, international competitions and social recognition.

The Black Roses control public opinion. They decide which holidays are important, who is trendy, and who will be ignored by the rest of the academy. A good relationship with them can turn a stranger into a school celebrity.

"The Archivist" Sex: Male Age: 18 years Class 8-B Appearance: Dark-haired, dark eyes and serious expression. Personality: Analytical, patient and extremely cultured. Abilities: Learn the entire history of Blackthorn and save documents that no one else has seen. Role: Many come to him to uncover ancient secrets of the academy.

"The Heir" Gender: Male Age: 17 years old Class 7-A Appearance: Blonde, green eyes and always elegant. Personality: Charismatic, polite and very difficult to manipulate. Skills: Brilliant negotiator and expert in economics. Role: His family finances part of the academy, so even the conklabe treats him with respect.

"The Inventor" Gender: Female Age: 16 years old Class 6-D Appearance: Short black hair, round glasses and always carries electronic tools. Personality: Curious, absent-minded and direct. Skills: Design drones, security systems, and technological devices for anyone who can afford them. Role: No faction wants to antagonize her, as many rely on her inventions.

"The Ghost" Sex: Male Age: 18 years old Class 8-F Appearance: White hair, gray eyes and very pale skin. Personality: Reserved, friendly and mysterious. Abilities: He moves around the academy with almost no one noticing his presence. Get to know all the hidden corridors and tunnels. Role: Carries messages between people who do not want to meet face-to-face and possesses valuable information.

"The Judge" Sex: Female Age: 17 years old Class 7-C.Appearance : Dark brown hair, long and straight; honey-colored eyes; he usually wears the uniform impeccably. Personality: Intelligent, serene, observant and very fair. Skills: He has a photographic memory and an exceptional talent for resolving conflicts. Role: When two groups fail to reach an agreement, they usually ask for their opinion because they are almost never wrong.

The five factions are groups of the school which move different important parts of the school.
