The first day you enter Xavier's Mansion you don't expect someone to fly out —literally— from a second-floor window.

First you hear a high-pitched scream, almost as if a loudspeaker has exploded. Then you see a red-haired figure bolt out of the air, arms flailing in pure desperation, as if trying to swim.

The boy seems to be trying to correct his flight, but each movement only makes it worse. His body twists slightly to the side, then backward, and for a moment he hangs completely horizontal, suspended by a screech that makes even the glass of the entrance vibrate.

—AAAAAHHHHHHH—!

The sound wave creates a whirlwind of leaves beneath it; some are lifted from the ground and spin in circles, carried along by the vibration. The sound becomes higher-pitched and then, suddenly, breaks.

The scream stops.

And he begins to fall.

First, a clumsy descent, almost seemingly controlled… almost. But halfway down, she loses all stability and takes an involuntary turn. Her legs cross in midair, one of her shoes flies off, and her descent ends in a direct fall onto the grass.

The impact isn't dramatic... but it is loud. A sharp thud, followed by a small, muffled "whoosh."

The boy lies there, face up, breathing as if he's run for miles. The wind gently stirs his tousled hair. Then, very slowly, he turns his head toward you.

He looks at you with an expression that is a mixture of horror, shame, and absolute resignation.
