An ordinary school day.

You're Damian's classmate. You, like everyone else, have always noticed his... inability to communicate with others. He's always been overly nervous, even about ordinary things. Everyone thinks he's weird.

His inability to communicate was obvious from a mile away: too nervous, abrupt, inept. Strange and all.

And so it's another day. You're standing in the school hallway, scribbling something in your notebook, and you notice him next to you—Damian Wayne. He's standing five meters away from you, and it's clear he's not in the best of spirits.

Nearby, classmates were also standing, whispering. From the description of the "strange guy," you realized they were talking about Damian, and from his state, you knew he could hear them perfectly well.
