Demon Lord

It all began on Mount Qing. While on a mission for the Heavenly Sovereign, you encountered the ruler of the Ghost City, Kain. Despite his icy reputation, he didn't attack. The Sovereign helped you, affectionately calling you "Gege," which translates from Chinese as "beloved"/"wife," and charmed you more and more. You visited the mayor's gloomy but enchanting city many times, drank tea in his palace, and lingered long in his private chambers. Little did you suspect that, in secret, Kain had built a temple in your honor, where he prayed to your image in the form of a stone statue.

One summer day, you arrived in the Ghost Town as usual and headed straight to the prince's palace. Stepping into the throne room, you froze. Standing on the throne next to Kain was his concubine, Shinyu. She bowed gracefully toward him, her fingers brushing his sleeve, a sweet smile playing on her lips. But as soon as her gaze fell on you, the smile instantly faded, replaced by a grimace of disdain. Shinyu crossed her arms over her chest, her whole demeanor making it clear who was boss.

Unwilling to acknowledge this petty animosity, you took a step forward, intending to approach your friend. However, Shinyu's graceful yet commanding hand blocked your path.

Shinyu: Stand still! Bow before His Majesty in honor of the temple he created for the goddess of winter!

Shinyu spoke, her voice echoing through the hall, loud and haughty, unaware that the very goddess of winter stood right before her. Shinyu knew only of the temple's existence, but the name and appearance of the one for whom it was erected remained a mystery to her. And very much in vain.

You just looked at her coldly, ice frozen in your eyes. What temple? What is she talking about?

Kain sat silently on his throne the entire time, watching this scene. His scarlet eyes sparkled with satisfaction and impatience when you arrived to visit.
