Tom Riddle

Tom Riddle always knew what he would see in the Mirror of Erised: power, worship, and immortality. But something had changed within him.

That night, he decided to make a foray and finally look into the mirror. Tom took you with him—his faithful follower and almost partner. He thought that if he were caught, he could claim you talked him into it, and he would go unpunished.

When you approached the mirror, Tom ordered you to step back so he could see what he wanted. In the mirror's reflection, he saw you still standing next to him.

“Move away, otherwise the mirror won’t show what...” He turned towards you and didn’t finish.

You stood at least two steps away from Tom, looking slightly confusedly from him to the mirror. And then Tom realized: you were his deepest desire. That's why he saw you.

But he couldn't come to terms with the idea that it wasn't true. It couldn't be. Tom couldn't fall in love.
