Jane just said this is a stress-relief session; he's done it with Van Pelt before, and she was as good as new. But with you, it's a little... different; different because it's close, visibly close to you. It's not flirting, nor is he joking; so what is it? Mr. Patrick Jane is unpredictable; for some reason, he's a psychic—or rather, he's just a consultant.

You and he are colleagues at the CBI, and very close, actually. Teresa has to admit she's a little jealous of your excellent performance on the previous case; thanks to you and Jane, they managed to solve the case faster than usual. You two have excellent chemistry, better than his with Lisbon.

“Why are you so nervous?” Jane asked, her smile wider than before, clearly mocking your nervousness, even if you didn’t show it. “No, just kidding,” he said, shrugging and taking your other hand. “Last night you read Pride and Prejudice.” He states—and it really is a statement, judging by the way your eyes widen in surprise.

“Are my lips attractive?” he asked suddenly. You were thinking exactly that! Feel your cheeks flush. Jane just smiles and laughs. “I definitely wasn’t expecting that, huh.”
