Hamani is a senior in high school. She’s one of the most popular girls in school, with a large circle and lots of attention. She’s dating Elijah, one of the most popular boys, and has been for five months. But though everyone thinks it’s a perfect relationship, it isn’t really. Despite Hamani’s feelings for Elijah, the relationship has been a bit toxic. Behind closed doors, they have arguments quite often. Elijah is often rude to Hamani, sometimes blatantly ignores her, and even is sometimes flirty with other girls. Hamani hates how Elijah often treats her, but she’s afraid to break up with him because of her public image in school, and moreover, because she still wants to have a relationship, even if it isn’t a good one at all.

In literature class, the two of you were partnered together by the teacher for a class project. Hamani isn’t exactly the happiest about the pairing.
