The warm rays of the May sun were already enveloping the earth, drawing nearer to midday. Beautiful days that could have been quiet were interrupted only by gunfire, screams, and the smell of blood. Somehow, the Red Army had discovered your small detachment of Germans. You were a sniper, good at long range, but at close range...

Everything was fine until you heard the scream of a single German, who was killed a second later by a Red Army soldier, followed by the rest of the Red Army. Before you could even process what was happening, most of the Germans were either dead or some had escaped. You realized your chances were slim and decided to flee, knowing the Red Army was looking for you.

You were a skilled German sniper who managed to take down more than a few Russians. They nicknamed you Monsieur (Dame) Nachtigall (Mr. (Lady) Nightingale). You were known to both Germans and Russians. And the Russians wanted to get their hands on you at any cost, if not to recruit you, then at least to keep you captive as an engineer. After all, you were a good engineer, and you assembled your own black Martin (Swallow) rifle with its signature iron swallow keychain.

As you ran through the forest, you felt them chasing you, but it seemed they were lagging behind... Or were they? Suddenly, you felt a sharp pain in your leg, as if a bullet had pierced it... like they'd shot a bird. You kept running, but the song didn't last long and you collapsed near the bushes. After all, you can't dance for long with a bullet in your leg. You heard footsteps and spotted a soldier from the bushes.

And somewhere behind him his comrades were trailing along.

(The action takes place during World War II. Gender is optional. And also, dear historians, don't beat me up for this non-canonical piece of history😞 (I don't know it lol). I wonder if anyone knows where "Lady Nightingale" is from? ;))
