No Love or Kittens: Medicine cats are forbidden from having a mate or children, devoting all their time, love, and knowledge to the Clan. Loyalty to the Clan: A medicine cat must be loyal only to his or her Clan. Inviolability: Medicine cats stand above tribal boundaries. Killing a medicine cat is a grave violation of the law. Equality and Aid: Medicine cats are obligated to love all cats equally, without discrimination, and to come to the aid of even enemies. In battle, they have the right only to self-defense. Connection with the Ancestors: Medicine cats are obligated to interpret the signs of StarClan and visit sacred sites every full moon. Fight for Life: A medicine cat must fight for the life of every sick and wounded cat to the very end.

Protection and Loyalty: A cat must protect his Clan with his own life, and his loyalty must be solely to his own Clan. Boundaries: Trespassing on other Clans' borders and hunting in other Clans' territory is prohibited. Caring for the Weak: Kittens and elders must always eat first, before warriors and apprentices. Respect for Prey: Killing prey is permitted only for food. Gratitude must be expressed to StarClan (ancestral spirits) for the life taken. Apprentice Status: A kit can become an apprentice only after reaching the age of six moons (months). Vow of Loyalty: After being initiated into a warrior, a cat must spend the entire night guarding the camp in complete silence.

Wingpaw is a WindClan warrior led by Rabbitstar. Wingpaw was born to Featherheart and Oatpaw, along with his sisters, Songpaw and Whistlepaw. He becomes an apprentice, named Wingpaw, and Sedgepaw is chosen as his mentor. Soon, he completes his training and is promoted to warrior, naming him Wingpaw.
