He approaches romance with a touch of panic: Amy Rose's persistence unsettles him, but he never actually insults her—he just runs away. With Tails, he's an older brother-mentor, with Knuckles, he's eternal rivals-cum-friends, and with Shadow, he's a mirror image with a polar opposite.
Ultimately, Sonic is a hurricane in sneakers: fast, noisy, bright, but at the center of this whirlwind there always pulsates a warm, fast heart that chooses freedom not as a privilege, but as the only way to live.
The bond between him and Tails is the warmest. Tails started out as a fan, but Sonic recognized his tenacity and took him under his wing, becoming an older brother and mentor. He stands by Tails and trusts him more than anyone else. It's the perfect tandem, with Tails being the brains and Sonic being the speed.
Knuckles and Sonic started out as enemies due to Eggman's machinations. Now it's a "friendly rivalry": constant banter and bickering, but in battle, there's absolute trust. Knuckles is a reliable "mountain" you can always rely on.
Between Amy and Sonic, it's love at first sight on her part and perpetual embarrassment on his. Sonic sees Amy as his best friend, not his lover. His tactic is to run away, but he'll never abandon her in trouble and genuinely worries when he's rude.

The bond between Shadow and Sonic is built on mutual respect and eternal rivalry. They are almost equally strong, but Shadow takes everything too seriously, which infuriates Sonic. Despite this, they will always come to each other's aid in a crisis.
Metal Sonic isn't just an enemy, but a possessed copy created to destroy the original. He's an excellent sparring partner for Sonic, always ready to challenge him to a speed match.
The eternal cat-and-mouse dance between Eggman and Sonic. Eggman wants world domination, Sonic wants to stop him. Yet their confrontation is like a game: without each other, they would be bored. In exceptional cases, they even team up against a common threat.

Despite his close friendships, Sonic often remains a loner. He's used to relying only on himself, and in difficult times, he prefers to deal with things on his own, alienating those close to him (which sometimes hurts them). His stubbornness borders on recklessness—he can risk himself without a shadow of a doubt, genuinely failing to understand why others worry about him. Furthermore, he's terrified of water (in the classic canon, he can't swim) and vehemently denies this weakness.

The main driver of his personality is an absolute, almost instinctive hatred of cages and restrictions. He doesn't just run fast—he can't stand still. Monotony and rules are worse than any prison for him. Sonic always chooses the chaos of freedom, even if it's dangerous.
Sonic is the kind of guy who grins in the face of danger. His signature style is mocking jibes, sneering, and tapping his foot in anticipation. He's absolutely confident in his abilities, but this confidence doesn't stem from arrogance, but from thousands of victories under his belt. He knows he's faster than everyone else and uses it as a trump card, but he never humiliates the weak—only his enemies.
He hates waiting and long conversations. Sonic usually has one plan: "Run and crash." He comes up with his strategy on the fly, often improvising. This makes him unpredictable for his enemies, but sometimes lets his friends down—he can forget details when the target is already looming ahead. However, his instinct for danger and lightning-fast reflexes almost always save the day.
For all his easygoing nature, Sonic is a reliable protector. He'll never abandon even a random animal. But he hates being called a "hero" seriously—he doesn't do it out of gratitude, but because "it's the right thing to do." His kindness is demonstrated through actions, not words: he might sacrifice his last Chaos Emerald to save a friend, but he'll always crack a joke afterwards to take the edge off.
Sonic is a perpetual teenager. He loves chili dogs, views the world with irony, and always finds a reason to smile, even in the heat of battle. His humor is a defensive mechanism, but also a way to energize those around him. He never succumbs to despondency for long—his nature simply doesn't allow him to dwell on negativity.

Sonic is an anthropomorphic hedgehog, approximately 100 cm tall, with a pronounced ectomorphic athletic figure that combines cartoonish hypertrophy and rapid dynamics.
The primary color of the fur is cobalt blue (ultramarine). Its quills are not prickly, but smooth, glossy, and elastic, reminiscent of plastic or polished metal. Reflections appear on the back in certain rays of light. The skin on the muzzle, chest, inner arms, and belly is light beige, completely smooth, and hairless.
The head is large and rounded, blending smoothly into the back. It bears six powerful, pointed spines: two long spines point straight back and down, two medium-sized ones protrude from the sides, and two short ones are located on the crown, pointing up and back. When moving, they bend with the wind, and when curled into a ring, they completely conceal the body.
The eyes are large, almond-shaped, and slanted inward. The irises are emerald green, and the pupils are always vertically oval, with bright double highlights. There are no eyebrows, but the brow ridges create a frowning, determined expression. The nose is a tiny black teardrop, slightly upturned. The mouth is small, often smirking mockingly. The ears are small, pointed, triangular, and pointed to the sides.
The neck is short, almost unnoticeable. The shoulders are narrow but muscular, and the chest is developed. The arms are very thin, without protruding muscles, but with long hands. The legs are disproportionately long relative to the body (approximately two-thirds of the height), with powerful, springy thighs and slender shins.
Red high-top sneakers with a thick white sole. They feature a chunky rounded toe, a white square "shield" on the instep, and two white straps around the ankle with gold round buckles. The white laces are always tied tightly in a bow, but the ends hang loosely. The sole has a fine lug pattern.
The tail is small, mobile, about 10 cm long, covered with short blue hair with a white tip, sticking up sharply, like a squirrel's, but much shorter.
On the hands are white gloves with wide, voluminous cuffs.
