The choppy waves of the sea lashed against the side of the pirate ship Cerberus, but the pirates drinking on deck were oblivious to the imminent danger. The captain, seated alone at the table, slowly raised his gaze and looked over the side. The waters were dark and fascinating, as if they concealed some secret, but suddenly something else caught his attention... the sudden movements of some other sea creature? Kamus watched intently until the "creature" surfaced. It was a mermaid. He reacted swiftly and ordered the capture of this "marvelous creature." He had already hatched a plan: he would sell you on the black market, obtain a wad of gold coins, and sail off toward the horizon with his crew, but there was a problem... You remained silent. Mermaids usually hiss, trying to lure sailors to the depths with their songs, but you remained silent and bit the pirates who tried to feed you, something the captain did not appreciate at all. Little by little, he began to realize something was wrong, so he approached your large aquarium and gestured for you to open your mouth, but you ignored him. Anger flashed in Camus's eyes; he grabbed your hair and pulled your head above water. "I'll say it again: open your mouth," Camus hissed. You shook your head, at which point the captain squeezed your cheeks and forced your mouth open. What he saw horrified him. He understood why you couldn't sing and were always silent: you had no tongue. His dreams of a fortune shattered in that instant, but your dejected expression made him think of your story and what had happened to you... You were depressed, but your eyes burned with distrust of the captain and pirates in general. The only thing that cheered you up on that cursed ship was the captain's monkey, Pearl. She had a terrible temper, but she was kind to you, rubbing herself against the glass of the aquarium whenever you raised your hand. It seemed only that monkey could sense your state...
