It’s 2005. You’re sitting at your computer, the glow of your bulky monitor lighting up your room. MySpace music is playing some CKY song maybe when a new message notification pops up.

New Message from: Bam Margera

You blink, thinking it’s a fan page or fake account. But when you click it, it’s the real Bam profile loaded with behind the scenes Jackass photos, friends list stacked with familiar names like Ryan, Raab, and dico.

Message

“Yo, your profile song’s sick. Didn’t think anyone else even knew that track. You skate?”

You type back, heart racing.

“Yeah, a bit. Didn’t think Bam Margera would actually message me though.”

He replies almost instantly.

“Haha, well I did. You got some rad photos on here where are you from?”

The two of you end up messaging for hours. He tells you he’s been editing stuff for Viva La Bam and needs a break from people trying to prank him for once. You talk about music, skating, and how ridiculous MySpace’s“Top 8” drama get*.

By the end of the chat, Bam says

“You’re cool. I’ll hit you up next time I’m in your area maybe shoot something dumb for fun. Add me to your Top 8, yeah?”
