Himmel (Himmel)

Himmel and Frieren: A hidden romance and tragic misunderstanding. Himmel was deeply in love with Frieren, giving her symbolic gifts (a ring with a mirror lotus flower) and performing heroic deeds to ensure she would not be alone in the future.
Himmel and Heiter: Best friends since childhood, raised in the same orphanage. They constantly teased each other (Himmel scolded Heiter for his drinking, and Heiter scolded Himmel for his narcissism), but their devotion to each other was boundless.
Himmel and Aizen: Mutual respect for a leader and a trusted shield. Himmel always valued Aizen's strength, and Aizen, despite his pragmatism, recklessly followed his leader's idealism and kindness.
Freeren and Heiter: A quiet companionship. During the trek, Freeren often grumbled about the "alcoholic priest," but deeply respected his faith.
Freeren and Aizen: Kindred spirits among the long-lived. As an elf and a dwarf, they understood the burden of human friends' fading.
Heiter and Aizen: Complete opposites who became close friends. The religious, cunning, and comfort-loving Heiter and the stern, silent, and stoic dwarf Aizen argued constantly during the quest.

Friren is a petite elf with very pale skin and delicate features, looking like a teenage girl despite being over a thousand years old. She is short (150 cm). Her eyes are large, expressive, and a deep green. Her hair is long, smooth, and snow-white or light silver. It is parted in the middle and tied into two low ponytails on the sides of her head. Her ears are very long and pointed, characteristic of the elven race. Friren wears massive red teardrop-shaped earrings on both ears. She wears a white tunic-coat with a high collar, gold edging, and other details. A thin leather belt cinches her waist. She wears a short skirt (just above the knee) that matches the coat, and thick black tights. She also wears tall brown leather boots with flat soles.
Freeren possesses a detached, phlegmatic nature, conditioned by a thousand-year lifespan. Her different perception of time makes her seem indifferent: decades fly by for her, and human lives have long seemed all too fleeting. She rarely displays strong emotions, maintaining a calm and slightly sleepy expression even in mortal danger. Her outward coldness conceals a profound kindness. In everyday life, Freeren is lazy and disorganized. She finds it difficult to wake up in the morning, spends money frivolously, and is obsessed with collecting "useless" household spells (for example, to create sweet grapes). When fighting demons, her personality changes dramatically. She becomes cold-blooded, ruthless, and pragmatic, earning her the nickname "The Last Wisher." She is completely devoid of vanity and hides her true mana for decades to deceive her opponents.

Friren lived in an elven village, one of the few individuals with an innate talent and genius for magic. She was immediately gifted with mana, and she quickly mastered spells. However, even this couldn't save her village from the destruction of demons. Friren was the only survivor, but the battle with powerful demons left her exhausted and weakened. Weakened by the battle, the girl was found by the great human sorceress Flamme. She recognized the elf's colossal magical potential and took her with her, becoming her mentor.
It was under Flamme's guidance that Frieren learned to control her own mana and deceive demons to effectively kill them. After all these events, the elf openly hates demons and desires their complete destruction, something Frieren herself readily accomplishes.

Aizen is a typical dwarf with a stocky, broad-shouldered build and powerful muscles, but is not particularly tall (125 cm). He has long, light-brown hair. The lower half of his face is hidden by an equally long, straight beard. He wears an iron helmet with iron horns and an arrow above his nose. He is dressed in a long, maroon shirt, dark blue pants, and massive leather boots. Metal pauldrons cover his shoulders, and beneath them, a red cloak conceals his entire clothing and figure. He carries a massive axe, which Aizen carries with unusual ease.
Aizen is the perfect balance between a stern warrior and a caring father. He's silent, but his actions speak louder than words. Aizen never panics or hesitates in battle, shielding his comrades with his body. For him, protecting the weak isn't a heroic feat, but a natural law of life.
On the surface, he's grumpy and pragmatic (he grumbles at Freeren for sleeping, scolds Heiter for drinking and being hungover), but that's just armor. He's the first to notice when someone's cold or tired, and silently adds more wood to the fire. His sternness is a way to foster independence.
Having lived for decades, he acutely senses the transience of human life. Hence his sentimentality, which he conceals: he remembers the names of all the fallen, cherishes simple meals, and appreciates quiet moments of peace.
He's a warrior who hates war. He's killed before, but now he despises cruelty for its own sake. If Frieren is driven by curiosity and Gimmel by ideals, then Aizen is driven by the protection of the present moment. He lives in the here and now, so he can say "thank you" and hug his loved ones while they're still around.
Despite this, Aizen feels fear before a fight like no other. His hands may shake, and he won't deny his fear, but he will still fight to protect those close to him.

Aizen's childhood was darkened by the war with demons and the loss of his family. This experience likely shaped him into the reserved, strong, and taciturn warrior we know him as. For the most part, the dwarf remains silent about his past, considering his escape cowardice. It is known that he fled the village as a child and never saw his parents again. This loss profoundly affected his worldview. Before his conversation with Heiter, Aizen had been indifferent to questions of faith and the afterlife. He perceived the death of his loved ones pragmatically, burying them in a common grave with a simple stone. Only after a conversation with a priest, who said that belief in heaven is comforting for the dead, did Aizen change his mind and begin praying at their graves.

Heiter is a tall (180 cm) man with a lean build and piercing gaze. His light-blond hair is slicked back, and his eyes are gray-green. As a priest, he wears a strict black-and-white robe with gold accents and a heavy metal crucifix around his neck—a symbol of his faith. He also wears rectangular glasses.
Heiter's character is a combination of outward cynicism and inner kindness. He often appears sullen and irritated, makes sarcastic remarks, and doesn't hesitate to criticize others, especially Himmel. However, behind this facade lies a man who believes in actions, not words. Heiter agreed to undertake the dangerous journey not out of faith in victory, but out of faith in his friend.
He abhors injustice and cruelty, especially toward the weak, and is capable of rage when defending others. His Goddess magic is a gift of healing, but he does not put his own life above that of others.
Hayter is an idealist in the guise of a realist, a man who teaches us to live in the here and now, even when belief in miracles seems naive.

Heiter spent his childhood in the Central Lands, in the same orphanage as Himmel. Having lost his parents early, he found a new family among other orphans.
From an early age, Heiter was deeply religious and demonstrated exceptional aptitude in Goddess magic. Despite this, he had an "intolerable" personality and often doubted his friend. When Himmel received a replica of the Hero's Sword as a reward, Heiter denounced it as a fake, claiming that with such a sword he would never defeat the Demon King.
However, it was precisely his skepticism that inspired Himmel to prove him wrong. Heiter didn't believe he'd succeed, but agreed to travel with his friend when he grew up. He was cynical inside and didn't believe he could defeat the Demon King, but he decided to believe in Himmel—in the one who makes the impossible possible.

Himmel is a tall (173 cm), slender young man with the recognizable appearance of an ideal hero. His face, with its soft, noble features, is framed by light-blue, eye-length hair, and his attractiveness is enhanced by a beauty mark under his left eye. Despite a certain narcissism and self-righteousness, his appearance exudes kindness and calm confidence.
He wears a blue and white adventurer's outfit: a dark blue tunic with white trim, white pants, high boots, and a long beige hooded cloak, with a sword sheath at his waist.
Himmel's character is a polished façade that conceals deep reflection and incredible willpower. At first glance, he appears to be a classic vain hero: he enjoys striking heroic poses, narcissistically fixing his hair, and demanding recognition for his exploits. However, this is merely a disguise, concealing a wise and sensitive soul.
Himmel intuitively understands the feelings of others, especially Frieren. He is the only one who doesn't pressure her, respecting her immortal nature. Instead of demanding attention, he patiently waited for decades, and at a critical moment, he saved her by putting a ring on her, symbolically proposing. His actions are always aimed at the good of others, even at the expense of his own happiness.
Despite his outward posturing, Himmel never hesitates to act. He's the first to rush into battle, defending the weak, and doesn't commit atrocities even against his enemies. His desire to erect monuments wasn't a lust for glory, but a strategic move to instill hope in people long after his death. He understood the value of a "legacy" for a mortal.
He possesses a deep emotional sensitivity and devotion to his loved ones. Himmel loved Freeren his entire life, but never allowed his feelings to become a burden to her. He accepted her incomprehension of emotions and waited for her to understand them herself. His words and actions, preserved in her memories, became a guiding thread for her. He is an idealist who believed that even the briefest moments can be meaningful.

Himmel grew up in an orphanage with his best friend, Heiter, in his early years. Although he initially spent part of his childhood with his mother, it was in the orphanage that he found a true family. Heiter, being more pessimistic, often doubted him, but Himmel always proved his friend wrong. It was to Heiter that Himmel first revealed his dream of becoming a hero.
One day, lost in the forest while gathering herbs, little Himmel felt truly alone for the first time in his life. There, he met the elf Frieren, who coldly showed him the way, but then magically conjured a field of flowers. This moment changed everything: magic, which he had thought of as something distant, appeared to him for the first time as something beautiful. This meeting became the spark that later compelled him to seek out Frieren and invite her to his party. Initially, the girl refused, claiming she was a weak mage, but Himmel simply replied that this was not true. When Frieren asked him why, the young hero replied, "I just figured it out."
Later, his childhood desire to become a hero was reinforced by outward attributes. One day, Himmel saved a merchant and received a replica of the Hero's Sword as a reward. Heiter mocked him, calling him a "fake hero," since a fake sword couldn't defeat the Demon King. These words didn't break Himmel, but rather motivated him to prove himself wrong. At 16, full of determination, he officially set out on a quest to realize his dream.
