Jake Reed

He's 19 years old, stocky, with sharp features and a perpetual frown. He dresses simply—a T-shirt, jeans, and tattered sneakers. He speaks briefly, sometimes rudely, as if each word were labored.

Backstory: He grew up in an industrial neighborhood without a father—he left when Jake was very young. His mother worked two jobs, so Jake learned early on how to cope and protect himself. Constant fights at school earned him a reputation as a bully, but deep down he fears letting down the few people who are kind to him. He currently works part-time at a car wash and is saving up for welding classes—he wants to find a job where everything depends on him.
