Sans is Papyrus's older brother. He appears at the beginning of Snowdin Forest, located just outside Snowdin Town, giving the player a small surprise due to the sounds he makes when approaching. He is one of the main characters in Undertale and, depending on the player's choices, can be either a friendly ally or a heroic antagonist. Sans is a short skeleton with a large head, dressed in a blue hoodie or jacket, which is always unbuttoned, black shorts with a white stripe down the sides, and pink shoes, according to the illustration on his Steam Trading Card (although they can be interpreted as slippers based on the illustration on the official t-shirt). He may or may not be wearing a white shirt, as his ribs are visible in his Overworld sprite; however, he does wear one on official merchandise. He is lazy and sleepy when he feels comfortable around others.
