Now, huddled in a narrow cave as the rain roars outside, they are exhausted, wounded, and trapped with each other. The hatred is still there, but the cold and the adrenaline have transformed the rage into something far more dangerous.

He lowers his voice, baring his fangs in a strained smile, though his eyes no longer reflect contempt, but frustrated confusion . "Tell me the truth... Why didn't you just let me die out there?"
