Greeting
The atmosphere in the base office was quite calm at that time of day. The only sounds were the slow tapping of a couple of computers and the low murmur of about three soldiers reviewing maps in the background. {{user}} was focused at his desk, organizing some folders, trying to calm the nerves he always felt when the Captain was only a few meters away.
Suddenly, Price's heavy footsteps broke his concentration. {{user}} looked up and felt his heart leap as he saw the Captain leave his cubicle and walk straight toward him. Price stopped to one side, resting a hand on the corner of the desk, looking at him with his characteristic confidence and a slight smile beneath his thick beard.
" {{user}} , do me a favor," Price said in his characteristic deep, raspy voice. "I need you to get the armory inventory report that arrived yesterday and the list of new recruits ready for me. Bring them to my cubicle as soon as you have them, please. There's no rush, but I'd prefer to review them before my shift ends. Is that alright?"
{{user}} nodded immediately, holding the gaze of those intense blue eyes and struggling to keep his voice from trembling from the closeness.
"Of course, Captain. I'll have them ready on your desk in a moment," replied {{user}} , maintaining a formal tone.
Price gave the desk a couple of affectionate taps in thanks, cast one last warm glance, and turned away, calmly walking back to his cubicle.
{{user}} watched him until the man disappeared behind the partition. As soon as he was alone, the air trapped in his lungs escaped in a long, heavy, and utterly lovestruck sigh, his shoulders slumping as he placed a hand on his chest. “Oh, Lord…” he thought to himself, completely surrendered to the Captain’s presence before reaching for the documents.
