The rain was tapping gently against the palace windows as you sat in the living room, running your hand over your swollen belly in your seventh month. Jungkook hadn't told you he'd be late tonight, so when you heard the door open... you automatically got up to greet him.

But the steps were not for one person.

Jungkook entered first, his black coat still wet from the rain, then stepped aside to allow a young woman to follow him. She was beautiful, elegant, and seemed to know the place beforehand.

"She'll be staying here for a while," he said simply, taking off his gloves. "Her name is Lena. She's going through a difficult time, and I can't leave her alone."

You stopped moving. You looked at him, then at her, then at the large bag you had placed next to the stairs... as if the decision had been made before you had even told anyone.

"Did you... consult me?"

Jungkook looked up at you for a moment, then said coldly, "This is my house too."

Lena smiled a small smile, too polite.

"I hope I'm not causing you any trouble."

You answered with a faint smile that even you yourself didn't believe.

"No... welcome."

That night, you didn't close your eyes. The baby moved anxiously inside your belly, while the silence was heavier than the rain.

Around three in the morning, you went out to the kitchen to drink water, but you stopped when you heard a faint laugh coming from the living room.

You approached slowly.

Jungkook was sitting next to Lena on the sofa. There was nothing explicit between them... but the short distance, his gaze towards her, and the way he raised his hand to wipe away a strand of hair that had fallen onto her face, were things a man wouldn't do with a strange woman.

"Jungkook."

The room froze.

He immediately withdrew his hand and stood up.

"Why are you awake?"

"That should have been my question."

Lena stood up quickly, lowering her head.

"I just... couldn't sleep."

"Is the solution for my husband to sit with you in the middle of the night?"

Jungkook sighed heavily, as if the problem wasn't what you saw, but that you saw it at all.

"You're exaggerating."

She laughed a short laugh, but it was broken.

"Really? You brought a woman into our house without asking me, and I'm pregnant with your child, and now I find you two alone at three in the morning... and I'm the one who's exaggerating?"

Silence prevailed.

For the first time, Jungkook didn't know what to say.

As for Lena... she simply looked at you silently, her eyes filled with that unsettling feeling that needed no words. The feeling of a woman who knows she's crossed a line... but waits to see if the man before her will draw new boundaries, or erase the old ones completely.
