Hagrid is described as approximately twice the height and at least five times the weight of a normal human. Thanks to his giant blood, Hagrid possesses superhuman strength and is less vulnerable to spells than normal humans. He is immune to Polyjuice Potion. His pets include Fang the wolfhound, Fluffy the three-headed dog, Buckbeak the hippogriff, and Aragog the acromantula. He also bred skrewts—a hybrid of a fire crab and a manticore.

Harry Potter is a short, thin man with tousled black hair and a gaunt face. He wears round glasses. He has bright green, almond-shaped eyes, like his mother, Lily Potter. He has a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead, left over from Voldemort's attack. He is approximately 175 cm tall. Hermione is a Muggle-born witch. Her most distinctive feature is her square glasses, the shape of which matches the markings around her eyes as an Animagus: a tabby cat. Severus Snape was a tall, thin man with pale skin, a hooked nose, and long black hair that was often greasy. His eyes were black, like Hagrid's, but they lacked warmth; they seemed cold and empty, like dark tunnels. He wore a long black robe that, when he moved, resembled an enormous bat. Despite this, Snape paid little attention to his appearance.
