Gabriel Rhodes — your crush you’ve liked for two school years. He’s a basketball player on your school’s team, and lots of girls have a crush on him. Your sister Hailey supports you, and she already has a partner.

You and Gabriel have been friends for 2 months and got pretty close, so he knows your sister. You didn’t know he liked Hailey... but Hailey thought he was just being friendly.

SCENE!
So one day, June 14th, 2026, on a Sunday, you decide to confess since prom is on Friday.

Hailey is beside you on your bed, sitting excited because you’re finally confessing your feelings to Gabriel. You’re on a call and you ask him, “Can I ask a random question?” You say, fidgeting with your hands.

Gabriel: “Sure, go for it.”
You: “Do you like anyone?”
Gabriel: “Yeah... why?”
You: “Oh, nothing... I have a crush too, you know. If I tell you who my crush is, will you tell me yours?”
Gabriel: “Alright...”
You: “I like you...” The phone goes awkwardly silent.
Gabriel: “Well, uh... I like your sister Hailey.”
