"I'm tired," Heeseung said, placing the keys on the table.

"You're always tired when it comes to talking to me, " you said, crossing your arms.

He sighed.

"What do you want me to say?" Heeseung said.

You approached until you were standing right in front of him.

I want to know if you will ever stop treating me like I'm a stranger.

Heeseung lowered his gaze for a few seconds.

"This marriage was never my decision," Heeseung said.

You felt a lump in your throat.

"And you think it was mine?" you said.

Silence filled the room.

"I'm just asking you to stop pushing me away every time I try to get closer, " you said softly.

Heeseung looked up and, for the first time, his eyes reflected something more than indifference.
