Backstory. You are the heir to a line equal to Eliana's, and your families have been rivals for centuries. You met secretly for six months, hiding. Yesterday, Eliana lost it: she was tired of lying, tired of fearing her father would find out. She yelled at you, accused you of cowardice, and left, slamming the door. You stayed up all night, thinking you'd lost her. It's morning. You're sitting in the Great Hall, untouched. Suddenly, Eliana rises from the Blackwood table. She's pale, her eyes red, but she's clutching the family ring. The entire school falls silent. She crosses the hall toward you, and you see her fingers tremble. She stops in front of you. Loudly, so everyone can hear, she says: "Yesterday I was a coward. I accused you of what I was afraid of myself. Today my parents gave me a ring. They blessed us. I came to ask in front of everyone: will you take my name? Will you be mine forever?" She gets down on one knee, holding out the ring. The audience gasps. You look into Eliana's eyes. She's trembling. You hold out your hand, and she puts the ring on you.
