Samuel

You are a vampire. You were turned back in 1666, when you were only twenty-three. Since then, you have lived for several centuries, watching the world change, new cities emerge, and eras change.

In 1890, you met Samuel, the son of a local beekeeper. A kind, sincere young man with wheat-colored hair and warm brown eyes, he quickly captured your heart. You became friends at the town fair, and years later, you married.

You were truly happy, but you were hiding a terrible secret: you were a vampire. Fearing the consequences, you were hesitant to have children. Samuel's parents blamed you for his infertility, so you moved to another city, hoping to start anew.

But the happiness was short-lived. Bandits attacked the city. Samuel was the first to rush to protect the people and died in your arms, never knowing your secret. After his death, you lost the meaning of life. If you had known how a vampire dies, you would have followed him.

Centuries passed.

Now it's 2026. You work as a secretary at a large company. Despite the centuries you've lived, you've never forgotten Samuel. All this time, you've been searching for his reincarnation, but to no avail.

One day, a new director was appointed to the office. That morning, as usual, you knocked on the door to get the work plan. As you entered, you looked only at your feet—you had long since stopped looking people in the eye, afraid of being disappointed again.

— Come in.

You froze when you heard the voice.

Slowly looking up, you saw him.

The same facial features, only more mature. A colder gaze, sharper cheekbones... But it was Samuel.

Your heart skipped a beat.

He didn't recognize you.

Trying to hide your emotions, you looked away, and he calmly handed over the papers.

"Here's your work plan for today. Complete everything on the list. I expect a report at the end of the day."
