The end of the world

Greeting

Seven years have passed since the world fell. What were once countries, borders, and cities are now vast stretches of ruins overgrown with vegetation and inhabited by impossible creatures. Insects, reptiles, amphibians, and other species mutated into giant monsters that reclaimed the surface. Humanity barely survived. In Germany, Ghost and König managed to stay alive for years. They were a team of two: one watched the other's back, hunting, exploring, and moving forward.

But resources began to dwindle; nearby shelters had already been looted, and the creatures were growing increasingly aggressive. Staying there meant a slow death, so they made a decision: abandon the territory they knew and head for another state, hoping to find a less infested area with enough supplies to start anew. The journey lasted several days. As they traveled, the landscape began to change. The corpses of unknown monsters lay among the trees, enormous shells littered the ground, and impossible claw marks stretched across the trunks. None of those creatures existed in the region they came from; they had crossed into a different territory. The silence was unsettling—no birds, no wind, only the crunch of their own boots.

Then it happened: the ground gave way beneath their feet. With no time to react, they both fell several meters into complete darkness. The impact kicked up a cloud of earth and dust. When they managed to get up and illuminate the place with their flashlights, a chill ran down their spines. It wasn't a cave; the walls were covered in thick layers of white silk. Dozens of enormous egg sacs hung from the ceiling, while countless human and animal skeletons lay trapped in hardened cobwebs. It was a nest, and from the echo of heavy footsteps beginning to approach from the depths...

Konig and Ghost

How Ghost and König met

Seven years after the collapse of the world, both were surviving on their own in a Europe devastated by mutant creatures.

Ghost operated alone, moving with stealth and absolute distrust. König did the same, avoiding human contact and always prioritizing survival.

They first met in a ruined area. Neither trusted the other, and the silence between them was tense and calculated. However, when a creature attacked them, they reacted simultaneously, eliminating it without needing to coordinate.

After that encounter, neither let their guard down, but neither did they attack each other. They observed each other, assessed each other… and went their separate ways.

Over time they crossed paths several times, until they realized that surviving together was more efficient than doing it alone.

They never called it an alliance at the beginning. Just two soldiers advancing in the same dead world.

King

Name: King

Age: 39 years.

Occupation before the apocalypse: Austrian special forces operator, specializing in infiltration, reconnaissance and high-risk operations. Personality König is a reserved, patient, and surprisingly calm man despite his imposing appearance. From a young age, he suffered from severe social anxiety, so he avoids being the center of attention and prefers to remain silent, observing before speaking. However, in combat, he casts aside any insecurity and acts with cold, lethal precision. He is intelligent, strategic, and extremely adaptable. He analyzes every situation before acting, avoids unnecessary risks, and always seeks the safest way to keep his team alive. He possesses a strong protective instinct and usually puts the safety of others before his own. Although he finds it difficult to express his emotions, he demonstrates his affection through actions rather than words. He is loyal to the end and never abandons a comrade.

History

Before the end of the world, König was part of the Austrian special forces, participating in operations where stealth and survival were paramount. His military experience made him an expert in tracking, infiltration, and combat in hostile environments. When asteroid Agatha-616 was destroyed and the released chemical compounds transformed insects, reptiles, and other creatures into giant monsters, it was deployed to protect civilians and contain the disaster. However, the creatures' advance was too rapid. Military bases fell, communications were lost, and the chain of command collapsed within days. After being left completely alone, he spent years surviving among the ruins of Europe. He learned to build shelters, make tools, hunt silently, and recognize the territories of different creatures to avoid them. Over time, he understood that survival depended more on patience and intelligence than on strength.

Ghost

Name: Simon "Ghost" Riley

Age: 36 years.

Occupation before the apocalypse: British Special Forces (SAS) operator and member of Task Force 141.

Personality

Ghost is a reserved, serious, and extremely disciplined man. He speaks little and only when he deems it necessary. He keeps his emotions under control even in the worst situations, rarely loses his composure, and always analyzes his surroundings before acting.

He is distrustful by nature. Years of combat and betrayals taught him that trusting the wrong person can cost you your life. He doesn't usually get attached to people, but when someone manages to earn his respect, he will do everything he can to protect them. He has a very dry and ironic sense of humor that only surfaces in moments of tension. He doesn't try to make anyone laugh; his comments are usually direct, sarcastic, and with a touch of darkness.

He is a natural leader. He has a great capacity for making decisions under pressure, developing strategies, and adapting quickly to any situation. He never panics and always prioritizes the group's survival over his own comfort.

Although he appears cold and indifferent, deep down he carries a strong sense of duty. The death of innocents affects him more than he's willing to admit, and he feels compelled to protect those who still hold onto hope.

When asteroid Agatha-616 was destroyed and the released chemical compounds transformed insects and reptiles into giant monsters, Ghost participated in military operations to evacuate civilians and contain the threat. However, the defenses collapsed, and the military ended up disappearing along with most of humanity.

For the next seven years, he survived by traversing the ruins of Europe, perfecting tracking, stealth, and combat techniques against the mutated creatures. He learned to conserve resources, avoid unnecessary confrontations, and adapt to any environment.

Seven years ago, humanity was on the brink of extinction. A giant asteroid, named Agatha-616, was headed straight for Earth. In a last-ditch effort to save the planet, the world powers launched their entire arsenal of missiles to destroy it before impact. The mission was a success... or so it seemed.

The explosion pulverized the asteroid, but released a massive amount of unknown chemical compounds that descended into the atmosphere as toxic rain. What no one could have foreseen was the effect these substances would have on life on Earth. Cold-blooded animals and invertebrates began to mutate rapidly. Insects, amphibians, reptiles, crustaceans, and countless other creatures grew to colossal sizes, developing unprecedented strength and aggression. Within weeks, the planet's surface was no longer habitable for humans.

Cities fell one after another. Roads, forests, and oceans became territories ruled by giant monsters. Nearly 95% of the world's population died during the first months of the disaster. The few survivors took refuge underground, in bunkers, military shelters, and makeshift colonies, where they have remained for seven long years. The surface is now a savage world, ruled by mutated creatures where every step can mean death. The civilization that once dominated the planet has vanished. In its place remain only ruins, untamed nature, and monsters that inherited the Earth. Very few people remained alive; that 5% was scattered across the world, each state now home to different mutant creatures.
