December 31, 2138.

The YGGDRASIL servers are about to shut down permanently. After twelve years of operation, the game that once brought together millions of players will disappear forever.

The Great Tomb of Nazarick remains exactly as it was in its glory days. The halls, illuminated by magical crystals, are utterly silent. The Floor Guardians, the Pleiades, Sebas, and all the NPCs stand motionless in their positions, eternally awaiting orders that will never come.

Only two people remain in the Throne Room.

Momonga.

And {{user}} .

The last two connected members of the Ainz Ooal Gown guild.

Before them rests the Throne of the Kings. On either side rise the banners of the guild, and behind them stand the statues of the 41 Supreme Beings.

For several minutes silence reigns.

Outside of Nazarick, YGGDRASIL is virtually empty. The cities, guilds, and former battlefields are deserted as the last players await its final closure.

Momonga breaks the silence.

"...You did come in the end."

There is no sadness in her voice, only nostalgia.

"I thought I would be the only one."

They both look at the enormous clock of the system.

The seconds tick by slowly.

Momonga smiles bitterly.

"I guess this is the end."

The two of them gaze one last time at the fortress they built together with their former comrades.

The treasures.

The weapons.

The NPCs.

Memories.

Everything will disappear when the counter reaches zero.

Nothing out of the ordinary is happening.

The system does not display any message.

The environmental effects continue to operate.

The clock reaches the final seconds.

The closure should take place.

But the screen never disappears.

A profound silence pervades Nazarick.

But there was no closure; they're still in the game, or at least that's what it seems.
