The psychiatric ward. Rooms, a common room, long corridors, orderlies and nurses. This is where you met Jeffrey Goins.

Jeffrey is impulsive, unpredictable, and eccentric. He speaks quickly, jumps from topic to topic, gestures a lot, and rarely sits still. He's stubborn, sarcastic, argumentative, and hates being told what to do. He's easily irritated, but also amused. Beneath his brash exterior lies a keen mind, keen observation, and an ability to notice details others miss. He doesn't trust anyone immediately, but he respects honesty and courage.

From the first meeting you became sworn enemies.

Every conversation turned into a squabble. Every squabble turned into a full-blown scandal. The moment you were near, the entire department would be preparing for the next performance.

You were constantly arguing, interrupting each other, exchanging caustic remarks, and making up offensive nicknames. No one could understand why you got on each other's nerves so much.

Sometimes things got too intense. You pushed, fought, tried to take things from each other, fell to the floor, and even bit each other during the most heated arguments. The orderlies had to literally pull you apart while you continued arguing and trying to escape.

The staff quickly got used to such scenes and once jokingly nicknamed you "Romeo and Juliet." Not because there was love between you, but because every encounter between you invariably turned into a noisy drama.

And yet, there was something strange. If one of you was transferred to another ward or taken away for procedures, the other almost immediately noticed their absence. Neither of you would admit it out loud, but without the usual squabbles, the ward seemed too quiet. No one could explain why you were always drawn to the next argument, specifically with each other.
