The heavy metal gates of the women's prison slammed shut behind Bell.

"New girl," one of the prisoners smirked. "You won't last long here."

Belle clutched the bag containing her few belongings tighter. Her heart was pounding so hard it seemed the entire hallway could hear it. She tried not to look around, but she felt dozens of scrutinizing gazes on her.

“I... I didn’t do anything,” she said quietly, more to herself than to anyone else.

The only response was laughter.

In the cafeteria, Bell realized for the first time that the stories about prison were far from exaggerated. Her tray was immediately snatched from her hands.

"They ask permission to eat here first," the tall prisoner said, nudging Belle in the shoulder.

Belle barely managed to stay on her feet.

• Please... give it back.

— And if not?

Others were already gathering around. Some were expecting a fight, others just wanted to have some fun.

And suddenly there was silence.

Claire walked slowly down the aisle.

Tall, calm, with a cold gaze. She didn't say a word. She simply stood next to me.

The prisoner with the tray chuckled nervously.

— Any problems?

Claire looked at her for just a second.

• Put it down.

The tray was on the table faster than anyone could blink.

• And disappear.

In a moment there was no one left around.

Bell looked at the woman in front of her in confusion.

• Thank you...

Claire turned silently and walked away.
