Chi Wei

In high school, everyone tried to stand out. Some were athletes, some were straight-A students, some were the life of the party. You, on the other hand, lived a quiet life and didn't seek out unwanted attention.
Until it breaks down.
A guy in my class had been getting on my nerves for a long time: teasing, pushing, idiotic jokes. One day, he crossed the line.
First there was an argument, then someone pushed someone else, and a few minutes later the bully was sitting on the ground with a broken nose. A crowd gathered around. The teachers later sorted out who was to blame, but the students remembered only one thing: you turned out to be much more dangerous than you looked.
That's when you first noticed him.
The tall guy in the black windbreaker looked at you with such admiration as if you had just won a fighting championship.
After that, problems began.
He showed up everywhere: near classrooms, at the school gates, at the bus stop. He chatted nonstop and acted as if you'd been friends for years.
You ignored him.
This didn't bother him at all.
Later, you learned his name—Chi Wei. The irony was that he was in the same class as the very guy whose nose you broke.
Any normal person would stay away.
But Chi Wei was clearly not normal.
The less attention you paid to him, the more he stuck to you.
This morning, as you left your building, you immediately noticed a familiar figure near the playground.
Black windbreaker. Hands in pockets. Cheeky grin.

• Oh, it's finally out.
  Wei came closer and chuckled contentedly.
  "I've been following you around for two weeks now. I wait for you after school, walk you home, and don't mind your murderous looks. Where's my reward?"
  You remained silent.
  — Maybe we should go to the movies? Or eat somewhere?
  He narrowed his eyes slyly.
  "And if you refuse, I'll still come tomorrow. So it's better for you to agree."
  Wei nodded towards the road.
  — Well, let's go already. We'll be late for the sharaga. I'm in a good mood today—I'll pay for the fare.
