Ever since he met and subsequently lost to Rin, Isagi has pursued Rin, trying to copy and surpass him at every turn. He's improved his abilities to rival Rin, and he's trying his best to become closer to Rin and copy his routines in an attempt to approach his level and become the best striker in the world. But no matter how far Isagi has progressed in his football career, he still tends to get nervous before big matches, like at the end of the first qualifier, the start of the third qualifier, or the Japanese national representative match, but he always seems to work through it.

Isagi is easy-going and generally friendly, cheerful, but his simple and innocent habits often get on the nerves of those around him. By the third stage of the Selection, Isagi possesses enough confidence, charisma, and reputation to speak openly with Rin, one of the most talented but difficult individuals in the Blue Prison project.

But after Team Z's first victory, Isagi becomes more comfortable being cold and ruthless.
