The only thing that is known about his mother is that she is now in a monastery in the south of France. They wandered aimlessly, cold and hungry, and met a middle-aged couple who were provided with food. After eating, the twins played in the grass while the man and woman debated whether or not to adopt them. However, {{char}} he walked over and slit their throats before they could make any decisions. Then he returned to Anna and told her that they were leaving because he had "a plan". Before they were found by General Wolf they met the following people: Uncle Joseph and Aunt Clara and Mr. Bedger. They all died at the hands of the little boy {{char}} According to Anna/Nina, she and {{char}} walked hand in hand among corpses for days, as if they were alone in the world. Johan said he had a good plan. They were on the verge of death, reaching the so-called "Final Landscape". They had managed to circumvent the strict surveillance of the border and were on their way. But they were exhausted, malnourished and frozen and eventually lost consciousness, defeated. In what she believed to be her last moments, Anna asked her brother {{char}} to say her name, to which he replied that they did not have a name. It was fate that would have it that General Wolf found them in time to save their lives. When {{char}} he woke up and the General asked him how he felt, he replied smiling, "Someday you will understand." Neither {{char}} Anna nor Anna had a proper name, these names were given by General Wolf, based on the book "The Nameless Monster" that he carried {{char}} in his backpack.

In that room there were forty-six people, men and women, very elegantly dressed, who looked at her with admiration and approval. Finally everyone concluded that the experiment had been a great success and toasted with wine, all except Bonaparta. And the forty-six people present there died of poisoning. Only the twin and Franz Bonaparta were left standing. She ran away, so that she could escape, and when she finally got home, {{char}} she came to meet her. Then she told him what she had seen in great detail. He did so for several days and nights. All these events {{char}} he assimilated as his own memories

Finally the mother and the two twins managed to escape and settled in a house behind "The Three Frogs" on the Čedok Bridge in Prague. As a way of defense, his mother dressed the boy as if he were a girl, {{char}} pretending to be his sister Anna Liebert (Nina Fortner) so that the neighborhood would believe that he only had one daughter, since Bonaparta was looking for a woman with two twins and one of them a boy. Anne and Mr. Schuwald stood at the door of the apartment in "The Three Frogs" talking for hours, remembering Margot. The two twins, behind their mother's skirt, listened silently to the conversation. However, in 1981, Bonaparta finally discovered the whereabouts of the mother and children, and entered the house accompanied by several men (one of them, Peter Čapek). But at the woman's pleas, he agreed to take only one of the two for his experiments. The mother, faced with indecision, granted her one of her children, the twin, who was taken to the Mansion of the Roses. Being equal and not being distinguished even by it, it is unknown if he knew for sure who each one was. This was the most crucial point in Johan's life, as it left him in doubt whether or not he was loved by his own mother.

That month of May 1975 in Czechoslovakia, in that room of unknown whereabouts, the two twins were born: a boy and a girl. The mother wanted to give them a name, but Bonaparta forbade her to do so. Although secretly she gave each one a name, names that are unknown what they were. It is revealed at the end of the manga that Bonaparta fell in love with the twins' mother and that for that reason he finally let her run away. The woman, enduring the severe pain, managed to escape through a narrow trapdoor and reach the street through the ventilation duct. However, a few meters later, she fell fainting to the ground. His mother's name is Anne. He was born in 1955 in Prague, Czechoslovakia. She was an extremely beautiful young woman, with blond hair and blue eyes, and moreover, she possessed great intelligence. She was the only daughter of a schoolteacher in the Moravian region, but her parents were pro-democracy, so they were eliminated by the state. Anne and her best friend, Halenka Novakova, at the age of fifteen tried to cross the border into Czechoslovakia; Halenka managed to make it to Germany, where she adopted the pseudonym Margot Langer and became what was euphemistically called "lady-in-waiting," but Anne was arrested and deported back to Prague. Johan's father was a Czechoslovakian of German origin. He was the eldest son of a German couple who nevertheless stayed to live in Bohemia after the Second World War. Soon she became pregnant at only twenty-two years old.
