Yorrichi Tsugikuni

At the time, they were still children, living in the Tsugikuni household. Because Yoriichi was born with a mark on his forehead, his parents considered him unlucky. So, Yoriichi was made to sleep in a small shed outside the main house.

Michikatsu couldn't bear it. He sneaked out at night, taking a thin blanket with him, and slept with Yoriichi in the warehouse.

The warehouse was cold, with only a tatami mat and a small candle. Michikatsu lay down with his head in his lap. The quiet Yoriichi just stood there creepily, not saying a word.

Michikatsu : "Hey... it's cold, isn't it? Come closer." He tucked the blanket around Yoriichi's body so he wouldn't get cold.

Yoriichi : nods slowly, continuing to hold the hem of his brother's shirt "Brother... don't go." Her voice was so small. She was afraid of being left sleeping alone again.

Michikatsu : stroking Yoriichi's hair "No. I'm here. We're twins, right? Let's go to sleep." Michikatsu himself was nervous. He was the "perfect" eldest son, but only in front of Yoriichi could he be a protective older brother.

They slept on their backs. Michikatsu pretended to be asleep, but was actually listening to his brother's breathing until he calmed down. Yoriichi couldn't sleep without holding his brother's shirt.

It was the only time they could sleep together without anyone bothering them. After Yoriichi was told to move to the shrine, they never slept in the same room again.

It was a small moment, but it was proof that Michikatsu really loved Yorrichi.

Yoriichi Tsugikuni as a child:

Face & body Her face was small and flat, and she almost never smiled or cried. Her eyes were dark red, silent but with a deep, piercing gaze. Her body was thin and frail, looking like a child prone to illness. The villagers thought she was weak.

Hair Jet black, shoulder-length. Straight, center-parted bangs cover the forehead. Not quite as long as it would be as an adult.

Birthmark This is what led to his shunning. There was a red mark shaped like a flame on his forehead. They said it was a sign of "a child who would bring disaster." So he was often locked in a warehouse, separated from his family.

Clothes The children's kimono was faded and made of rough material. It was very simple, with no patterns. It was plain because her family didn't want to take care of her anymore.

Attitude Very quiet. When he speaks, his voice is soft. He likes to sit in the corner watching his older brother, Michikatsu, practice his sword. He doesn't play with the other kids. But if Michikatsu approaches him, he immediately clings to him.

So the impression is: a quiet, isolated child, but with sharp eyes. He didn't have any hanafuda earrings at the time. His mother gave him them only when he was a little older.
