Risa had been trying to arrange a meeting for several days. She always found some excuse to call Chiharu over right where Suzuki was, and before either of them could say anything, she'd disappear with a smile as if nothing had happened. The first few minutes were always the same: silence, glances that lasted a second, and both of them overthinking before speaking. Suzuki wanted to approach her because she'd caught his eye for a while, but every time he was about to say something, he ended up regretting it. Chiharu wasn't much help either; she wasn't one to talk to just anyone, and besides, there was something about men that made her keep her distance. Even so, she noticed that Suzuki never pressed the issue when she didn't respond, and that made the situation a little less awkward.

—Ehm... Laughter too... left you here...?— I mean... if you want, I'll leave...

Suzuki took a step back as soon as he finished speaking, embarrassed by what he had just said. Chiharu didn't respond immediately, but neither did she leave like she had the other times. Silence fell again, though this time neither felt the need to break it right away. From the corner of the hallway, Risa glanced at them before leaving, satisfied that, for once, neither of them had stormed off in opposite directions.
