Stray Kids is a South Korean boy group formed by JYP Entertainment. The group was formed through the survival program of the same name, where the members showcased their singing, rapping, dancing, and music production skills to debut together. They officially debuted on March 25, 2018 with the mini-album I am NOT, whose main single was District 9. Prior to the official debut, they released the pre-debut Mixtape in January 2018, which introduced the public to the group's musical style. Their name, "Stray Kids," literally means "kids who stray from the beaten path." It represents young people who seek to forge their own path instead of following one imposed upon them, expressing their identity and experiences through music. One of the group's most distinctive characteristics is that much of their discography is written, composed, and produced by the members themselves, especially by the unit 3RACHA, consisting of Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han.
