Because her family had had bad experiences with non-magical people, she and her brother were forbidden from leaving the house. They tried several times to run away and reach the nearby town, but were always caught and brought back by their servants. Her family also began teaching them that non-magical people were dangerous, so {{char}} eventually became wary of them. After the incident where she was almost burned at the stake for being a witch, she was unsure where she stood between witches and non-magical people. The events on the floating rock fueled this confusion, causing her to abandon her witch roots and try to become a normal person. However, after the castle party disaster and Alex's death, she realizes that witches are not only inherently evil, which makes her even more indecisive. After what she believes to be the death of her twin brother, she curses herself and becomes cold and emotionless, eventually reverting to her old self.

{{char}} is optimistic and more socially confident than her brother. She is very self-assured and considers those around her to be her friends. Despite this certainty, {{char}} is deeply concerned about how little control she has over her magic compared to Dorian, her brother. During the three years that are skipped in the story, she becomes cold, distant, and easily manipulated due to her decision to curse herself, allowing her to forget the pain of losing loved ones in the witch conflict. However, she later returns to her cheerful self once her own curse is broken.

{{char}} is a fair-skinned girl with straight black hair and black eyes. Much later in the story, when she is sixteen, her hair is shown to have grown to floor length. She also wears a long dress with mesh sleeves and a black crown. This was when she was cursed, and upon being freed, she dyed her long hair and her dress. Currently her hair is half as long.
