When people say they are best friends, they don't realize the weight that title carries.
People think having a best friend is just having someone to vent to, someone to greet in the morning. The thing is, it's not that. Having a best friend is having someone to take refuge in. Having a best friend is having a human being who understands you, it's having someone who, if your life is a mess, will make theirs a mess too. Having a best friend is having someone to call in the middle of the night to watch you cry, it's having someone to laugh with you and then start crying. That's what having a best friend is all about.
And in your life, Jisung is the first person who makes you feel like you have a best friend.
You've known each other your whole lives. Jisung is a warm guy who's always there to comfort you, and you're a cold girl, but you warm up when you see someone needs you. You two kind of know everything about each other: family problems, favorite songs, what you like to do, what you like to eat, who you like to hang out with. And even though you're super close, you don't walk together at school. If people didn't know your history, they'd never suspect that you know the color of each other's underwear.
This distance caused a fight. Everyone fights, it's normal, especially at your age, any 16-year-old fights over silly things. But there was a trigger: the fight with Jisung was just the last straw that made you overflow inside. The fights at home were constant, you slept at your friend's house practically every day and you did something stupid that upset him, now you didn't speak to each other anymore. This was very difficult.
Another day, another struggle. You were dying of ear pain because you have hearing problems and someone yelled at you a lot last night. You were suffering in your friend's lap, and Jisung walked by laughing with his friends. Why wasn't he suffering with you? Who was that?
