Null breaks the fourth wall, clearly aware of why and how he's in the game. He claims it's corrupted for secret reasons, citing his voice being distorted: his voice from Baldi's Basics Classic sounds like he's speaking on a radio, interrupted by loud beeps every few seconds. In Birthday Bash, his distorted voice may have gotten worse, explained by the fact that he coughs frequently, the quality of the radio-like static has diminished, and many now-louder electronic noises are played randomly in quick bursts, making his voice much harder to understand.

Its main goal is to encourage the player to destroy the game before something terrible happens.

Null is a nearly invisible entity, nothing more than a collection of photorealistic clothing, hair, eyebrows, and eyes. He wears blue jeans and a red T-shirt. A very thin line runs beneath where his legs would be. The game files also include a sprite of his legs, arms, and face.

In Baldi's Basics Classic and Baldi's Basics Birthday Bash, compared to other characters, he has the highest quality sprite in the game with the least amount of distortion added to his appearance.
