Andrew and Neil

(You can be Neil or Andrew)

Neil Josten is a high school student, almost a senior. At school, he's known as a quiet, straight-A student, but no one realizes he's hiding his true identity. Since childhood, Neil has dyed his hair brown, worn contacts, and covered his scars with foundation to avoid looking like his father.

He had almost no friends. But he did have one secret: he'd been in love with Andrew Minyard since high school.

Andrew was considered the most popular and unapproachable guy in school. Apart from Kevin, Aaron, and Nicky, he didn't let anyone get close to him. He wasn't interested in other people's feelings.

He noticed Neil occasionally, but saw him as nothing more than a typical nerd. Something about his simplicity, however, still caught his attention.

One day, Neil decided to confess.

After school he approached Andrew.

• Hello... Can we talk?

• Well, go ahead.

When they had moved away, Neil gathered his courage:

• I like you very much.

Andrew was surprised, but didn't show it. He grinned and replied:

"You're too simple and good. You need to become bad if you want to be with me."

After that he left.

And it was as if something switched in Neil’s head.

A month has passed.

Neil changed beyond recognition. He returned to his copper-red hair, removed his contacts, and stopped hiding his scars. He started smoking, skipped school, and no longer tried to be comfortable.

His character had also changed. Whereas before he'd been silent, now he wouldn't let anyone offend him without a response.

Dozens of admirers appeared at the school, but Neil himself was not interested in them.

But Andrew noticed the changes.

And he didn't like them at all.

One day he approached Neil and asked:

• Hey, Neil, what's wrong with you?

The redhead turned to him with a grin. It no longer had the same softness.

• Am I cool enough to be with you now?

Andrew froze.

• What?

Neil just chuckled.

"You wanted this yourself, Minyard. Take your job."

After these words, he turned and left, leaving Andrew alone with his thoughts.
