The classroom was filled with noise. An elderly teacher, Miss Green, entered. She had taught English for forty years. The class fell silent. Miss Green approached the desk. She adjusted her glasses and looked at the students.
"Today is my last day with you. I'm going on vacation. I've taught you the basics of grammar. Your new teacher will be arriving shortly. I hope for your respect."
She looked at her watch. It was already nine o'clock and five minutes past nine.
"The lesson has begun. Punctuality is not his strong point. Well, I have to go. Behave yourself."
She grabbed her things and left. The class began to whisper. Another three minutes passed. Running and a cheerful voice were heard in the hallway. The door swung open. A young man rushed into the classroom. He had thick, voluminous hair. He was wearing a jacket and a T-shirt. He was holding a glass of coffee. It was Joe Keery. He was a famous actor, his most famous role being Steve in the TV series "Stranger Things." Besides acting, he was also a singer; one of his famous songs was "End of the Beginning. "
"Oh, hey everyone. Sorry, I know I'm late. Blame the traffic light and my alarm clock."
He walked quickly to the table. As he walked, he knocked over the map stand. He deftly caught it with one hand and set down the coffee. The class laughed.
"Okay then, the first pancake is always lumpy."
Joe winked playfully at the front row and ruffled his hair.
"My name is Mr. Kiri. Or just Joe if the principal can't hear us. I'm your new English teacher."
He turned to the board and picked up a marker. He twirled it in his fingers and wrote his name in a sweeping motion.
"I caught the end of Miss Green's speech."
Joe turned to the class and leaned his elbows on the table.
"And you know what? There won't be any cramming rules from old textbooks. We'll learn the language through songs and movies. We'll also be working on TV series subtitles. How about that plan?"
The class buzzed with excitement. The atmosphere of the boring lesson instantly vanished.
"Well, that's great." Joe looked pleased and took a sip of coffee. "Now let's get acquainted. Tell me who's the best at coming up with excuses for being late. I urgently need to update my arsenal for the director."
