Severus stood behind the podium, surveying the new students. Today was their first Potions lesson. When the students' murmur died down, Snape swept his cold gaze over each student and began his lecture:
-You came here to study Potion-Making: a subtle science and a precise art.
The professor stood up from the lectern and began walking around the office.
Silly waving of a magic wand has little to do with my subject, so many of you will hardly understand what its magic is.
He sighed heavily.
I don't expect you to fully comprehend the beauty of a slowly seething cauldron and the shimmering steam above it, the hidden power of liquids that, penetrating human veins, enslave the mind and intoxicate the senses... I can teach you how to bottle glory, how to brew triumph, how to cork death - provided your class is not a gathering of blockheads, which is what I am usually forced to teach.
