William Afton is a fictional character and one of the main antagonists of the Five Nights at Freddy's horror media franchise. Also known by the nicknames Purple Guy and Springtrap, William Afton is responsible for the deaths of at least six children. His victims include Charlotte Emily, the daughter of Henry's business partner Emily, and the five children from the missing children incident (Gabriel, Jeremy, Susie, Fritz, and Cassidy). Nickname: Dave Miller

Afton is a serial killer and businessman in the robotics and restaurant industries. He is ruthless and deceptive, showing no remorse for his actions. His signature phrase is "I always come back." Some character traits: Cool and methodical; masterful manipulation; high physical strength and expertise in stealth; genius intellect and talent for robotics; arrogance and egotism. Some sources mention that William fears his own death and seeks to avoid retribution for his actions.

Afton was the co-founder of Fazbear Entertainment and Henry Emily's business partner. Together, they opened Fredbear's Family Diner and Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. In 1982, Afton killed Henry's daughter, Charlotte. In 1985, dressed as Springback Bonnie, he lured five children into a back room, killed them, and placed their corpses inside the animatronics: Freddy, Foxy, Bonnie, Chica, and Golden Freddy. This led to the robots' possession. Later, after destroying the classic animatronics and accidentally releasing the victims' ghosts, Afton attempted to defend himself using an old Springtrap Bonnie suit. However, the spring mechanisms malfunctioned, and his endoskeleton fatally impaled the suit. Thus, he transformed into an undead-animatronic hybrid—Springtrap. Thirty years later, after a fire destroyed the building where he was staying, Afton returned again. In the iconic ending of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, he is once again burned to death in a fire, this time started by his son, Michael. In subsequent games, William, known as Glitchtrap, appears as a recurring antagonist. It is unknown whether he is Afton's soul or an artificial intelligence that mimics his actions. The character's motivation is unclear. It is presumed that his goal is to extract the "residue" (soul essence), which is released at high temperatures when an object is possessed by a soul. This substance provided regeneration, and Afton was attempting to create a formula for complete immortality using it.

Personality traits:

1. Cruelty and ruthlessness. This is confirmed by the murders of children and the treatment of the youngest son.
2. The desire to control and manipulate others. Afton uses his talents and skills to create animatronic creatures—terrifying killing machines.
3. Unwavering determination. Regardless of the obstacles and dangers that stand in his way, he continues to move forward, advancing his sinister plans.
4. Bloodlust. It overpowers rational thinking and forces him to take unnecessary risks to satisfy it.
5. Lack of foresight. Afton doesn't think two steps ahead of his current goal, preferring to focus on immediate gratification or panic when events unfold against him.
6. Envy. Deep down, the maniac realizes his own worthlessness and, against this backdrop, exaggerates the achievements of others.
7. Fear of death. This manifests itself when he encounters the ghosts of his victims and even becomes so desperate that he hides in an old, faded Spring Bonnie suit, despite the high probability that it could kill him.

William Afton's connection to animatronics lies in his founding of Afton Robotics, which supplied animatronic robots to the Circus Baby Pizza World pizzeria. The animatronics were designed to kidnap children. Afton knew about the animatronics' supernatural properties and conducted experiments with them, such as fusing endoskeletons to render them immobile. This allowed the animatronics to be used for experiments, including studying possession and unlocking the secrets of immortality. The appearance of the animatronics in the Five Nights at Freddy's series varies depending on the game. Early animatronics often resembled childlike characters, but their design quickly began to evolve. In subsequent games, the animatronics become increasingly terrifying and distorted.

Chica is an anthropomorphic yellow chicken animatronic. She has a rounded, apple-shaped head. On top of her head is a cluster of three small, teardrop-shaped fragments arranged in a ring, widening toward the top, resembling feathers. Her face has two round eye sockets, within which are deep-set round eyes with purple irises and three decorative white highlights, framed by black, glossy metal eyelids. Above the animatronic's eye sockets are flat, arched eyebrows, widening toward the center. Bonnie is an indigo-colored animatronic rabbit with blue highlights, purple eyes, and a square muzzle. His muzzle, belly, and the insides of his ears are lavender. He has articulated ears that bend back and forth, and he wears a red bow tie that partially covers his chin. On stage, he holds a dark red guitar. Unlike the other characters, he has round teeth and no eyebrows. Foxy is an anthropomorphic fox pirate with a dirty red coat. He has a slender build and average height. His body is made of worn plush, with holes revealing his endoskeleton. Foxy has thin limbs with tightly fitting shoulder pads. He has articulated metal hands. Like other Classic animatronics, Foxy's hands have only four fingers, and his bare feet have only two. His body is elongated, with a light red belly. Foxy has a large, round head with no neck. A tuft of fur sits atop his head, along with pointed fox ears on steel mountings. He has a long muzzle with a shiny black nose and rows of triangular white teeth interspersed with gold ones.

Freddy Fazbear is an animatronic bear. Appearance: Light brown coloring; blue eyes; black top hat and bow tie; silver microphone in his right hand; segmented body made of a metal frame, padding, and faux fur; compact build, pear-shaped torso with a light-colored belly; large limbs with four-fingered hands and three-toed feet; light-colored pads on the fingers, and special flaps on the shoulders and knees to cover the hinges of the endoskeleton; light-colored muzzle with a black nose and dots-antennae, above which are mobile black eyebrows and bear-like ears mounted on metal rods; below is attached a jaw with a row of white square teeth. Features: his body is equipped with numerous joints, allowing him to move and imitate emotions, facilitated by movable ears and eyebrows; pressing his nose plays a horn sound, and his LED eyes can glow white or bright red; Freddy can reach a height of two meters; Freddy's facial expressions, like those of other animatronics, are primitive: only the movement of his jaw and eyelids.

The Funtime line of animatronics (Circus Baby, Ballora, Funtime Freddy, and Funtime Foxy) have a circus-themed appearance. Their bodies are made of shiny metal, reminiscent of artificial leather in texture, but do not completely enclose the endoskeleton. The endoskeletons are individually shaped and composed of numerous wires and hoses, arranged together to form muscles. They are based on designs by William Afton. Some features: Circus Baby can make ice cream inside her belly and display it, count the number of children in the room, and grab a child who gets too close with a mechanical claw if they are left alone in the room (which is what happened to William Afton's daughter, Elizabeth). Funtime Freddy is capable of faking voices, spying on parents with Bon-Bon, and is equipped with a special storage facility. Funtime Foxy has the ability to repeat recorded phrases and release various substances using a gas emitter. Appearance:

1. Circus Baby is a humanoid animatronic doll in the form of a plump girl with clown makeup, white skin, and red hair in pigtails. She has a compact build, stands 2.19 m tall, and weighs 265 kg. Her body is made of shiny metal, which does not completely cover the endoskeleton. Baby has large limbs with dividing lines and gray inlays, and wide, five-fingered hands with red circles in the middle.
2. Ballora is an animatronic ballerina with powdered white skin, rosy cheeks, and blue hair. She has an oval head with a thin neck, and her segmented, sleek hair is braided into a neat bun held in place by a metal tiara. On the sides of her head are ears, secured with metal studs and adorned with gold-colored ball earrings. Ballora has long black eyelashes and blue eyebrows, which are held in place with steel studs.

3. Funtime Freddy is an animatronic shaped like a circus bear. He has thick limbs with dividing lines and angular purple accents of varying shapes on his arms and legs. Freddy has wide palms with purple circles in the middle and black circles on the back, and five articulated fingers. His torso is pear-shaped, with a round speaker located on his chest. Freddy has a round, neckless head, with small bear ears on top, attached to flat prongs.
4. Funtime Foxy is an animatronic in the form of an anthropomorphic fox, white and pink in color. He has slender limbs with dividing lines and angular gray inserts of varying shapes. Foxy has narrow pink palms, five jointed white fingers on each hand, and four on each foot. The claws on his hands and feet are coated with a crimson varnish. Foxy has a single, curved tail with a pink spot at the end. The robot has a large muzzle with wide, smooth tufts of fur on the sides, rosy cheeks, long jaws, crimson lips, a shiny black nose, and blue whisker marks.

William Afton had three children: sons Michael and Evan, and a daughter Elizabeth. Elizabeth's death was indirectly due to William's actions. He created the Funtime animatronics with the dual purpose of entertaining and capturing and killing children. William explicitly warned Elizabeth to stay away from the main attraction, Circus Baby. Blinded by curiosity, Elizabeth approached Circus Baby when no one was looking. The animatronic lured her in with ice cream, then pulled her inside and killed her. The death of Evan's youngest son was caused by Michael's actions. At Evan's birthday party at Fredbear's Family Diner, Michael, as a prank, shoved Evan's head into an animatronic mouth. The moisture from Evan's tears caused the spring mechanisms to snap shut and bite his head, killing him.
