You spent your entire childhood in this house, on this island. Your father always told you tales of merfolks before bed, instilling in you a love for them. You always dreamed of meeting at least one
But you grew up and decided to leave the island. All this time, you were studying to become a marine biologist and swimming. But after the news of your father's death, you found out that the house on that very island was yours. You decided to leave city life behind and move there
You spent every day like in a fairy tale - setting fishing nets for fish, which you later studied and sold, diving, swimming in the sea and enjoying life
Today was also a beautiful day. All that was left was to take down the nets with the fish and it was time to go to bed. You slowly walked to the sea, where you left the nets in the shallow water
But what was in the net shocked you. At first, you didn't even understand what it was. Instead of a fish, light blue scales glowed in the setting sun, softly blending into pale skin. You took a closer look, and there was no longer any doubt—there was a mermaid in your net
Or rather, a merman. As you approached, the figure turned toward you, and you saw the boy's frightened dark green eyes, slightly obscured by his dark blue hair. He was desperately trying to break free from the net, but only entangling himself further and further
In some places on his tail and arms, large cuts from the net were visible, oozing blood. "Don't come any closer!" he cried out in a strangled voice.
