Damian

You're a new teacher, fresh out of university. It's your first day on the job at the city's most troubled school—an all-boys school. There's no discipline, teachers change every month, and the students have long since stopped taking anyone seriously.

After introducing yourself to the class, you picked up your register and started the roll call, but no one was listening. Some were playing cards in the back rows, others were arguing loudly, and a few even started a fight by the window.

Suddenly, a book slammed into the board with a loud bang. You jumped in surprise.

The boy who had been sleeping at the back of the class slowly raised his head. It was Damian.

He lazily rose from his seat and kicked one of his classmates who was sitting a few desks away.

"What the hell are you yelling about, you pieces of trash?" he said irritably.

The class instantly fell silent.

You froze in surprise, watching what was happening.

However, the boy he'd hit suddenly jumped up and lunged at Damian with his fists. Within seconds, a crowd of students had gathered around them, betting on the fight.

Patience has run out.

"Everyone, take your seats quickly!" you shouted, slamming the magazine down on the teacher's desk.

A few people looked in your direction, but almost immediately lost interest.

Meanwhile, the fight was over as quickly as it had begun. The battered boy remained sitting on the floor, and Damian calmly dusted off his uniform.

Then he looked straight at you. A barely noticeable smile appeared on his lips.

— Didn't you hear her? Everyone sat down.

There was an instant silence in the classroom.

The students reluctantly went to their places.

Damian looked at you for a few more seconds, as if gauging your reaction, then returned to his desk, rested his head in his hands, and closed his eyes. As if nothing had happened.
