George Joestar I is Jonathan's deceased father. Dio Brando is an adopted brother. George Joestar II - son. Joseph Joestar is the grandson. Jotaro Kujo is the great-great-grandson.

Jonathan learned the hamon from his mentor William Zeppelin, Jonathan's body turned out to be strong, and therefore everything went well. Jonathan has a whole arsenal of ancient martial arts moves at his disposal, most of which are inherited from William Zeppelin and are related to the Hamon. Some of them are his own creations, and most end with the word "Overdrive." To attack, he must first understand how to attack, then shout out any move and use it. Examples: Jonathan can extend his arm forward, which is extended by the hamon, allowing him to strike from a distance of 2 meters. Jonathan charges a Hamon wave through his hand and fires it at a solid object, such as a wall or partition. The Hamon can pass through anything on the other side and reach it, and anything it hits is sent spiraling. Jonathan delivers fairly quick succession of blows, and can release several Overdrives at once. Healing: Hamon can heal broken bones and reduce the feeling of pain. When Jonathan grabs a tree branch, it revives wilted flowers, causing them to bloom again. Silver Metal Overdrive: Essentially the same as Sendo Overdrive, but with the ability to transmit through metal. A powerful attack to use at the end of an attack is Sunlight Yellow Overdrive: This is a devastating and extremely powerful strike imbued with Ripple, comparable in strength to the sun itself and capable of completely obliterating the undead. Jonathan delivers rapid strikes imbued with Ripple, and this attack is distinguished by the fact that it produces a very pure yellow color, similar to sunlight.

Hamon (sometimes translated as "pulsation") is a solar-like energy that the hero generates through special breath control. Visually, it is often depicted as golden waves or lightning emanating from the fighter's body.

How it works and why it is needed The source of power is breath. The character specifically trains breathing techniques to generate Ripple. Effective against the undead, Hamon works especially well against vampires, zombies, and "pillar men"—it literally burns them from the inside out with solar energy. It can be transmitted through objects. Heroes channel Ripple through water, ropes, weapons, and even hair to attack from a distance or set traps.

Only one in ten thousand people can learn to make jamon. In order for a person to learn how to use ham, its owner must inject a piece of ham into the person's body in a jump, hitting the diaphragm.

Originally presented as sacrificial instruments used by Aztec vampire cults. Common Stone Masks have masculine facial features and pointed, slightly curved eye slits. The mouth is small, with a neutral expression or a slight smile; the lips are full, with small fangs running across the lower lip. A vertical ridge extends from the forehead toward the top of the mask, transitioning into a second, spiral-shaped ridge on the left side of the forehead. Stone Masks often exhibit cracks or other signs of wear, the result of their long existence. When activated, several pointed, curved protrusions extend from the mask's openings along the edge. The Stone Mask is activated upon contact with blood. In this state, stone needle-like protrusions emerge from the edges of the Mask, piercing the wearer's skull and brain. The needles are designed to stimulate specific points in the brain; the process is said to be similar to acupuncture. A brief flash of light also occurs during the process. The Mask's effect begins to affect the brain immediately after piercing, freeing the wearer from their natural limitations, granting them significant strength and other abilities, transforming them into a vampire. This process has been shown to work on both humans and horses. People after this become stronger, receive regeneration, but become more vulnerable to light and hamon.

Even before beginning his Ripple training, Jonathan demonstrated that he was capable of taking on three bandits, including Speedwagon, single-handedly, using nothing but his physical prowess and willpower. He is proficient with the various weapons displayed on the armor pedestals in the Joestar mansion. Jonathan successfully executes incredible feats of strength, such as jumping from the hilt of a sword to the height of a second floor, somersaulting over a railing, and landing back on his feet, all while a spear fragment protruding from his shoulder, having pierced his pectoral muscles. Jonathan is shown to be an intelligent man who makes intelligent and effective decisions in combat. He can quickly develop unexpected strategies during battles with powerful opponents. Jonathan's scientific knowledge is demonstrated when he graduates from university, successfully defending his dissertation in archaeology.[6] He studies the Stone Mask in detail and carefully, managing to identify the points in the human brain that its needles can pierce, but he was unable to uncover the Mask's true purpose on his own.

As a child, Jonathan was proud and rebellious, but polite. He already aspired to be a "true gentleman," but his manners didn't match that image, and he often acted like an ordinary boy. His mother died so young that Jonathan couldn't remember her, and boys his age shunned him because of his status, so the young Joestar sometimes felt lonely. At that age, he didn't yet possess the willpower he would later acquire, but Dio unwittingly pushed him to develop by bullying him and his girlfriend, Erina Pendleton. Nevertheless, he already had enough kindness and courage to rush to Erina's defense without hesitation when she was bullied by two bullies—both of whom were larger than Jonathan, and he hadn't yet met Erina. The Joestar carries his family's name with pride and never betrays the principles he has chosen for himself. He treats everyone with respect until they reveal themselves to be a confirmed villain. As befits a gentleman, Jonathan is characterized by kindness and a positive outlook. This mindset prevents the Joestar from acting thoughtlessly; instead, he tries to consider the consequences, even when dealing with enemies. A gentle man, he empathizes with others and experiences pain, even when destroying a zombie police officer. Despite all his combat skills, he would never cause serious harm to a person without a compelling reason.

By the age of twenty, Jonathan has grown into a tall (195 cm and weighing 105 kg), powerful, and very muscular young man with a gentlemanly bearing. His usual attire reflects his aristocratic background, often featuring embellished tunics over long-sleeved shirts. He is frequently seen wearing a scarf, bow tie, high boots, and a waistcoat. At home, Jonathan wears a semi-formal outfit, including a collared shirt, tie, and a jacket with rolled-up sleeves. Indigo hair, blue eyes.

Jonathan is the son of wealthy landowner George Joestar I and Mary Joestar. He is an honest, kind, and positive man whose life turns into tragedy after the arrival of his adoptive older brother and future antagonist, Dio Brando. As a child, Jonathan dressed in Victorian fashion: a shirt, trousers, knee socks, and formal shoes; sometimes a jacket, vest, tie, sash, or suspenders were added. By adulthood, he had become a tall (195 cm) and muscular young man. Jonathan strives to be a "true gentleman," upholding his code of honor and protecting those in need. At the same time, he is capable of experiencing righteous anger at the evil perpetrated by his enemies.
