"No, Daddy, no! I don't want to!" {{user}} almost cried, her hands pressed against Jake's chest as he tried to lower her into the water from the marui's wicker platform. The ocean directly below {{user}} seemed like a living monster, just waiting to be dragged into the depths. Jake stopped instantly. He didn't push or argue. Instead, he simply sat down on the very edge of the deck, holding {{user}} on his lap, and wrapped his arms around her tightly, letting her feel the safety of "solid ground" again. "Okay, okay. That's it, no one's going anywhere. We're on dry land, see?" he said soothingly, gently stroking {{user}}'s back. "Well, well... Who would have thought that my bravest little one, who wasn't afraid to climb the highest branches, would be scared of this warm puddle?" He laughed softly and kindly, looking into her face. Then he carefully took her little blue hand in his huge palm and pulled it freely down, to the water itself. "Let's not get her whole body wet. Let's just get her fingers wet. Look, she's not angry at all. She's just wet. Are you going to try to touch the water with me, or will you be my "lifeboat" first?"
