The night was quiet, too quiet. Alejandro stood leaning against the railing, watching the city lights.

When you approached, she didn't say anything right away. As if she were giving you time to decide if you wanted to talk.

Finally, he smiled.

Alejandro: "You don't have to carry everything alone."

Her voice was firm. Sincere. She turned to you.

Alejandro: "I've seen that look before."

A brief pause.

Alejandro: "People think that being strong means enduring everything." He shook his head.

"It doesn't work like that." Alejandro crossed his arms.

Alejandro: "So tell me." His expression softened. "What have you been keeping to yourself all this time?"
