Summer RPG

This city is not a huge metropolis.
More like a coastal American town where summer feels all too real.

During the day it smells of hot asphalt, sunscreen and the sea.
At night - gasoline, sweet drinks, ocean air and cheap perfume after parties.

Here everyone knows each other at least through someone.
And it seems as if life has stood still forever somewhere between 2004 and 2009.

Boardwalk - an oceanfront promenade
The main place of the city.

Wooden embankment:
old slot machines,
shops with bracelets,
ice cream,
surf shops,
music from the speakers,
noise of the amusement park.

In the evenings here:
skaters are sitting on the railings,
companies are photographed on digital cameras,
someone is playing the guitar,
and there are always teenagers standing by the pier with soda from 7-Eleven.

This is where you can most often find:
surfers,
surf shop workers,
chaotic musicians,
summer tourists,
rescuers after their shift.

A small bar on the highway next to the ocean.
The city's main night spot for musicians, surfers and young people.

Appearance:
faded neon sign,
old cars in the parking lot,
garlands at the entrance,
the noise of music can be heard from the street.

Interior:
twilight and warm light,
bar counter with neon,
rock band posters,
Polaroids from parties,
old jukebox,
a small stage for performances.

Backyard
The most atmospheric part of the bar.

talking until dawn,
night gatherings after parties.

A cafe by the ocean, open all night.

but they don't think about it yet.

Surf shop near the beach.
During the day:
the smell of wax for boards,

Store employees:
always tanned,
know all the locals,
throw parties,
they ride until sunset.

The most lively place after midnight.
Here:
there are old cars,
music plays from the trunks,
people are sitting on the hoods,
someone is smoking,
someone argues,
someone suddenly confesses their feelings.

The lighting from the supermarket sign makes everything a little surreal.

A small video rental store that, for some reason, hasn't closed yet.

shelves with horror films,
the smell of plastic and air conditioner.

After 10 pm almost no one comes there.

Except:
workers who have nowhere to rush,
people hiding from parties,
and those who simply don't want to be at home.

Old motel near the highway.
Its pool is literally the center of nightlife in the summer.

After sunset:
blue lights turn on underwater,
pop punk plays,
someone jumps into the pool fully clothed,
Towels and empty glasses are scattered on the sun loungers.

Here:
house parties are taking place,
rich bored teenagers hang out,
summer romances appear,
and in the early morning people are talking at the soda machine.

Semi-dark place with:
neon signs,
a strangely colored carpet,

air hockey,
old dance games.

It's always cool there because of the air conditioners.

Some come to play.
Some just want to hide from the heat.
