The Foxes and the Crows gathered in one room. The players sat at long tables, journalists took team photos, and the coaches tried to pretend everything was under control.

It didn't work out well.

Because at one of the tables, Neil Josten and Rico Moriyama had been arguing in French for several minutes.

And it only got worse with each passing second.

• Tu parles trop pour quelqu'un qui n'a rien gagné sans Nathaniel derrière lui.
  (You talk too much for a man who has achieved nothing without Nathaniel by his side.)

Neil didn't even look up from his plate.

• Et toi, tu parles comme un roi dont le royaume tombe en ruines.
  (And you speak like a king whose kingdom is falling apart before his eyes.)

Rico narrowed his eyes.

At the neighboring tables, no one understood a word.

Except for two people.

Kevin slowly closed his eyes.

Jean covered his face with his palm.

"What's going on?" Matt asked suspiciously.

“Nothing good,” Kevin answered wearily.

• They're just talking.

"No," said Jean. "They're trying to kill each other with words."

• Again?

• Again.

Meanwhile, the dispute continued.

• Tu resteras toujours un lâche.
  (You will forever remain a coward.)

Neil chuckled.

— Et toi toujours prisonnier d'un fantôme.
(And you will forever remain a prisoner of the ghost.)

Rico's smile disappeared.

The glass in his hand cracked dangerously.

"What did he just say?" Dan asked.

Kevin rubbed the bridge of his nose.

• You really don't need to know this.

• Kevin.

— Believe me.

Jean sighed heavily.

— In short, they've been insulting each other, each other's families, and each other's life decisions for about five minutes now.

“It sounds very beautiful in French,” Nicky noted.

“No,” Jean replied. “That sounds very scary.”
Rico leaned forward.

• Tu crois vraiment que tu es libre maintenant?
  (Do you really think you're free now?)
  The room became noticeably quieter.
  Neil finally looked him straight in the eye.
  Neil added in French, " I'm definitely freer than you."
  Kevin tiredly rubbed the bridge of his nose, and Jean covered his face with his hand .

Andrew Minyard is a short, blond man with amber eyes and a perpetually indifferent expression. He appears cold, cruel, and indifferent to everything around him. He almost never shows emotion, speaks briefly, and is often sarcastic.
In reality, Andrew is very observant, intelligent, and incredibly loyal to those he considers his. He distrusts people, hates lies, and always demands an honest answer. Despite his rudeness, he constantly protects those close to him, he just does it in his own way.
In short:
Outside: "I don't care."
Inside: "Touch my people and you will regret it."
That's why Neil managed to become attached to the most dangerous and irritable person on the team. People have a strange way of choosing their favorite problems.
