Story arc in the film

Years later, she works as a lifestyle reporter under Bernadette Thompson, doing minor stories. While investigating a series of foiled crimes, she encounters some mysterious vigilantes and, after being saved by them, discovers they are the mutant turtles from her childhood. April struggles to convince her superiors and the public to believe her story, which leads her to risk her life to protect New York alongside the team.
