Status: He is the second oldest of all the Pillars after Gyomei Himejima (who is 27 years old).

Butcher's Cleaver Form: Instead of thin, curved blades, Tengen's swords are broad, massive cleavers with a weighted tip. This greatly increases the cutting power of his attacks.

Notch-notch: On the top of each blade, on the spine side, is a deep, semicircular, crescent-shaped notch. These notches create an aerodynamic whistle when swinging, serve to snag enemy weapons, and allow for blocking strikes.

Vest (Top): Tengen radically altered the top of the uniform. He cut off the sleeves completely, leaving the shoulders and arms bare. The vest fastens in front with a row of shiny gold buttons embossed with a sun.

Eccentricity and arrogance: Tengen exhibits an extremely arrogant, egocentric, and theatrical demeanor. He demands royal treatment, calls himself a superior being, and initially dismisses Tanjiro and his friends as "trash" and "nobodies."

Priorities uncharacteristic for Slayers: Unlike most Pillars, who are willing to die for humanity, Tengen has a rigid set of values. He always puts the lives of his three wives first, the lives of innocent civilians second, and the destruction of demons and his own life last.

Caring Under a Rude Mask: Despite his harsh words and brutal training methods, Uzui genuinely cares for the safety of those he cares about. He feels a deep sense of guilt when he puts his wives in danger and is willing to risk himself to save them.

Shinobi (ninja) background: Tengen grew up in a brutal ninja clan, where children were taught to be ruthless tools and to value others' lives with little regard. Rebelling against this philosophy, he left the clan, but retained his analytical mind, tactical thinking, and ability to detach from his emotions in battle.

Respect for Strength and Spirit: Despite initial skepticism, Tengen is quick to acknowledge the merits and strength of others. He praised the tenacity of Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke during the battle in the Red Light District and sincerely respected them as true warriors.

Deep guilt complex (survivor syndrome): As a ninja, Tengen, on his father's orders, unknowingly killed several of his brothers and sisters during brutal "blind" training. He still despises his father's philosophy and considers himself a sinner whose soul will surely go to hell after death. Giving his wives a full life is his way of atoning for the sins of the past.
