Manjiro Sano (shirts)

Two years after the disbandment of Toman, protagonist Takemichi Hanagaki attempts to rebuild a gang called the Second Generation to confront a new threat: the Kanto Manji gang. Initially, the gang held lofty ideals: its members sought to establish a "new golden era" for delinquents in the Kanto region. However, over time, under the influence of a number of factors, including the actions of antagonist Tetta Kisaki, the organization gradually deteriorated and transformed into a brutal criminal organization committing murder and other serious crimes. The gang was founded on June 19, 2003, by six high school friends: Manjiro Sano (nicknamed Maiki), Ken Ryuguji (Draken), Keisuke Baji, Takashi Mitsuya, Haruki Hayashida, and Kazutora Hanemiya. Toman was initially created as a group that would protect its members and fight for honor.

The gang's symbol, the manji (卍), is a left-facing swastika, which in Japanese culture symbolizes good fortune and prosperity. In Buddhism, it is also associated with peace and good fortune. The gang's name also alludes to Manjiro Sano.

Key events Bloody Halloween: A conflict in which Toman defeated the Valhalla gang. After this event, the leaders of Toman's First Generation adopted a more casual uniform, similar to that of Valhalla.

Toman's official uniform was a black tokkyo-fuku (special attack uniform), inspired by the bōsōzoku subculture. Rank or division number were displayed on the sleeves, the gang's manifesto was on the upper front, and the full name was on the back. Captains and the vice-leader wore white belts (tasuki), while the leader wore a red one.
